Farewell to the Ol' Lefthander

...rounding third and heading for home.

Joe Nuxhall holds the record for being the youngest player ever in a major league game, appearing for Cincinnati on June 10, 1944 at age 15. After a few more years of seasoning in the minors, Nuxie returned to the Reds and had a very fine career. After retiring in 1966 he immediately moved into the Cincinnati broadcast booth, where he carved out another legacy as an engaging and witty commentator who never forgot that baseball was fun.

Here's to you, Joe Nuxhall.

Nice tribute. I grew up a Reds fan, right from the days of the Big Red Machine. Listened to Marty and Joe on the radio way too many times to count. Really sad that Joe is gone. He seemed like such a nice man.
